My Route

The route that I chose came from a variety of areas. I first decided on my starting point, Seattle (for no particular reason) and decided to stay on a northerly route. Since I don't like riding in hot weather, I decided to stay up north. I researched my route using two other websites, Crazyguyonabike.com and ________. I wanted to ride thru Billings, Montana since I visited a working cattle ranch, The Shively Ranch, a couple of trimes, I wanted to visit Mount Rushmore, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Washington, DC.

I chose the day based on the number of days riding from Seattle to Sturbridge, MA the starting line for my 29 Pan Mass Challenge so I could join my fellow PMC riders and complete my cross country by riding in the PMC. I hope to arrive in Sturbridge on Weds  August 4th. This gives me Thursday and Friday as a pad in case I need two extra days for my cross country.

My schedule includes 9 days off the bike as rest days. I will ride 4 or 5 days in a row and then take a rest day. Depending on the terrain, I plan to ride an average of 60-70 miles per day.  A couple of days are much longer due to the lack of a good place to spend the night and a couple days of much shorter miles that gives me an easy day before a more difficult day.
